Working Holiday Visa 417 & 462: Your Guide to Working in Australia

Australia’s Working Holiday Maker program allows young adults from eligible countries to have an extended holiday while supplementing their funds through short-term work.
Subclass 417 - Working Holiday Visa
Available to passport holders from Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, and the UK.
Subclass 462 - Work and Holiday Visa
Available to passport holders from Argentina, Austria, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Peru, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay, USA, and Vietnam.
Key Requirements
- Aged 18 to 30 (or 35 for some countries)
- Hold a valid passport from an eligible country
- Not have a dependent child accompanying you
- Have sufficient funds for your initial stay
- Not previously held a Working Holiday visa (unless applying for a second or third)
Working Rights
You can work for any employer for up to 6 months and study for up to 4 months. Completing specified work in regional Australia may make you eligible for a second or third Working Holiday visa.
